Our favorite stop in the hood is by our kiddo's magical preschool. Kids for Black Lives Matter is hand painted along the sidewalk. We come here to reflect. The injustice is hard to comprehend. And this sentence underscores the privilege that we were unknowingly born into.
It blows my mind how much teachers can impact our kid’s life and our whole family’s life (even years later). I’ve never been as concerned about the learning - far more crucial in my eyes is nurturing the love of learning and kindness.
I love living in Los Angeles where celebrating diversity and advocating for justice is something the schools take as serious (or even more so) than writing and arithmetic.
