We took the mountain route from Ribadeo and got to sleep a night in history. All across Spain are Paradors where historical monasteries and castles have been converted into beautiful B&B's and run great deals. This monastery dates back to the 9th century.
Further along the route we were rewarded with this view. It's on the Galician leg of the Camino de Santiago just past the thatched roof village of El Cebrero.
We need to ditch the car next time and walk the Camino.
Cape Finisterre on the Atlantic coast of Spain is the end of the Camino, and in Roman times was believed to be the end of the world.
It really does feel like we're about to stumble off the edge.
